Representation, legislation, and over-sight functions are key duties of a legislative institution. Youth Legislators (Hon. Tinuola Awosemo – Osun East, Hon. Isiaka Olamilekan Popoola – Osun Central and, Hon Jimoh Abiola – Osun West) representing the youths of Osun State at the Nigerian Youth Parliament have started grassroots sensitization programme on the activities of the Nigerian Youth Parliament. The programme, among others, is intended to update the youths on the activities of the NYP; it seeks for collaborations between the youths and development partners; and it also serves as a feedback mechanism to the youths of the state.
The first stage dwells on media advocacies to the print and electronic media houses such as the Nigerian Televison Authority in Osogbo and Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (Radio & Television Stations) in Osogbo, Ile-Ife, Iwo, Ilesha and Ibokun. Likewise, print media houses include Osun Mail and Osun Defender newspapers, all in Osun State of Nigeria.
